You should know who pays for the information you read, so you can judge it for yourself. Here is the honest answer.
Today, we earn nothing from this website. Our guides, place pages, situation pages and stories are free to read. There is no advertising, no sponsored content, no paid placements and no referral or affiliate links. Our live online workshops are free too.
What may change. We are a private business and we plan to earn money in future. That may include:
- Paid products and services, such as guides or planning calls. We may tell you about them in our free workshops and emails. We do not list prices on the website. Before you pay, we show you the total price, what is included and the refund terms.
- Trips run by a travel partner, where we may receive a commission or fee. The trip page will say which.
- Referral fees, if a business pays us when you contact it or buy from it.
How we will tell you. If we ever receive a fee, commission or any other benefit from a business, we will say so wherever we mention that business, before you give it your details. For example: “Referral partner: we may receive a fee if you contact or buy from them.” We will also list the arrangement in the table below and update the date at the top of this page.
What does not change.
- No business can pay to appear in our guides, or to be described more kindly. Our guides have no paid placements.
- A payment never changes what we write or how we describe a country.
- We do not name or recommend particular insurers, banks, airlines, money transfer services or other providers on our website. We explain what to look for, so you can shop around.
- We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Retirees Abroad, including Meta for advertising measurement, as our Privacy Policy explains, and with other businesses only if you ask us to.
- We do not accept payment for positive reviews, and we do not let anyone pay to remove negative information.
